2017 Summer Concert Series - Honest Millie

Drawing from years and years of rehearsing vocal harmonies in various combinations including Sweet, Hot & Sassy and Swing a Cat, Honest Millie joins together members of these groups for some stellar harmony singing and strong instrumentation. Four gals, Valerie on upright bass, Agnes on piano, Lee on sax and clarinet & Ellen on violin, with the spice of Jim on guitar, enjoy bringing you music from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Lot’s of swing, some blues, and a bit of jazz and bossa to provide music for any occasion.

2017 Summer Concert Series - The Band Tradition

Tradition is a five-piece band from greater Boston. The band plays all styles of Irish music, as well as classic rock, country and folk. Tradition is particularly suited for weddings, festivals, Irish dances and corporate functions. The group has been together for 18 years and their members have a combined 100 years of experience in various musical genres.

The Strafford Wind Symphony has a way of creating a supportive atmosphere for the creation and enjoyment of music by non-professional musicians. The SWS provides an opportunity for fellowship between musicians from all walks of life.  The commitment to the love of music has kept Strafford Wind Symphony alive and growing.  The fifty-five-member ensemble meets weekly to rehearse at the Rochester Middle School.

High Range is an energetic roots/folk/bluegrass group with a long list of rave reviews from national publications.  They highlight original music with a mix of cover songs on guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and drums.  Their song, “Leave This All Behind”  (Kneeland/Jones) hit #1 on Music Choice for the week of July 18 – July 24, 2004.

Manchester Community Music School was founded in 1983 as the Greater Manchester Center for Arts & Music, located at 79 Dow Street. The school’s roots stemmed from the Egmont Center for the Arts established in 1981 and the Greater Manchester Youth Orchestra established in 1982, housed at 32 Trenton Street (directly across the street from our present location!).

Grab your baskets and hop on over to Stark Park for our annual Easter Egg Hunt EGGS-travaganza on Saturday, April 15, 2017. The hunt begins at 11:00 am sharp for all children under the age of 8 years old. Come early for face-painting, festivities, and special guests! River Road will be closed between Rowell and Readey Street, so please plan to park on Elm Street. The event happens rain, shine, or snow, so we look forward to seeing you then!

Doleac, founder/moderator of the Portsmouth Peace Treaty Forum, to present a program describing President Theodore Roosevelt’s multi-track diplomacy that included the Russian and Japanese delegations, the US Navy and the New Hampshire citizens who hosted the thirty days of negotiations that resulted in the Portsmouth Peace Treaty.

In 1986, Paul Maybery of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mark Elrod of Germantown, Maryland, and a small number of brass players from around the country gathered at the Hotel Coolidge in White River, Junction. Vermont. The result of this initial gathering was the performances of the Yankee Brass Band in the Upper Valley of Vermont/New Hampshire.

Please join us at the Stark Family gravesite on Monday April 27th at 10 am! Local dignitaries, members of NH Sons of the American Revolution, members of Molly Stark Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, members of the Children of the American Revolution and an honor guard in period costume will join in the ceremony.
